Meet the Team

Kate Taylor, PhD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Kate Taylor is a clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents and their families. She is most interested in anxiety, emotion regulation and the idea of resilience. 

​

Dr. Kate received her PhD in clinical psychology with a focus on child development and psychopathology from the University at Buffalo and completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the University at Rochester Medical Center before accepting a faculty position there. She now maintains her private practice. 

​

Given the increasing need for mental health services for children and adolescents, Dr. Kate's practice is now expanded and called Rochester Resiliency Center. 

Individual therapy for children and adolescents as well as parent consultation, will continued to be offered.

Krystal Crawford, MHC-LP

Mental Health Counselor

Krystal Crawford is a Mental Health Counselor and a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. She completed her mental health counseling degree from Medaille University in May 2023 and her master’s in education, school counseling from SUNY Brockport in 2009.

 

For the past 10 years, she has worked as a School Counselor focusing on mental health and substance abuse counseling for grades 6-12. Prior to her school counseling career, she was a Substance Abuse Counselor in an inpatient treatment facility.

Krystal has had a primary focus on adolescent counseling but enjoys providing counseling to all ages. Krystal’s interests include individual, group and family counseling which is why she has expanded her school counseling work to a private practice setting where she can support clients in a more individualized setting. 

​

Krystal can address a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, self-esteem, relationships, substance use and personal growth. Her goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore and discuss any issues they may be facing.

Catherine Cook, MHC-LP

Mental Health Counselor

Catherine Cook is a Mental Health Counselor. She completed her mental health counseling degree from St. Bonaventure University in August 2023. In 2005, she completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at Brigham Young University. Between undergraduate and graduate school, she stayed home with her three children. 

 

During graduate school, she worked for Easter Seals NY as a behavior specialist and behavior technician. She specialized in children through young adulthood with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual disabilities, as well as various mental health diagnoses. 

 

Her primary focus is on early childhood mental health intervention, with a focus on family work. She has counseling experience for ages 5 through 21 and enjoys working across the full developmental range of early childhood through adolescence. She continues to work with autism in her mental health practice, as well anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavior management. She is also interested in trauma work and play therapy.

Carrie Gardner, LMHC

Mental Health Counselor

Carrie Gardner is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She completed her masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Rochester and has been a therapist for over 10 years.

 

Carrie has worked for several years with adults experiencing co-occurring substance abuse and mental health concerns. She has been trained in DBT and focused on working with adults who experienced trauma. Most recently, she specializes in working with children and youth who have experienced trauma. Carrie approaches therapy utilizing a bottom up approach as the brain develops starting with the brainstem. Once we can learn to regulate our emotions we can begin to utilize our higher level functioning. Carrie utilizes various forms of play therapy to help children and families heal from trauma and is trained in EDMR and certified in TraumaPlay. Carrie also has worked with children and youth who experience anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, and difficulty with emotion regulation. Carrie wants to partner with children and families to identify goals for therapy and ways to support caregivers during the healing process.

Ashley Rosselot, MHC-LP

Mental Health Counselor

Ashley completed her undergraduate degree at Nazareth University in 2018, double majoring in psychology and community youth development. She completed her mental health counseling degree from St. John Fisher University in May 2020. During graduate school, Ashley worked for the Society for Protection and Care of Children as an Infant and Early Childhood Therapist. She specialized in serving children and families who had been impacted by all types of trauma, providing non-directive play therapy and family counseling sessions.

Post graduation, Ashley worked for Hillside Children’s Center as a residential treatment clinician with a heavy focus on family counseling to establish, learn, and practice new skills together. During her time there, she specialized in treating children in early adolescence who suffered from Anxiety and depression disorders, Post- traumatic stress disorder, Obsessive compulsive disorder, ADHD, Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, attachment disorders, as well as those with autism spectrum disorder.

Ashley has an interest in treating children and adolescents with comorbidities that disrupt their daily lives, peer, and family relationships. She works from a strengths-based perspective and specializes in providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), and other attachment informed approaches. Ashley has received extensive training in the most up-to-date practices and research on Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which incorporates play therapy and family engagement.
